Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp disagrees with Ancelotti after Champions League defeat

Jurgen Klopp has accepted that Liverpool’s fight to stay in the Champions League is likely over, despite a remark from Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti stating that the tie was not over.

The Reds were trounced 5-2 by the current Champions League holders at Anfield on Tuesday night after Madrid capitalized on woeful defending in which Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah scored.

Klopp noted how his side had given five easy goals away in the game, making it difficult for them to counteract with their own chances.

He mentioned how Vinicius Jr.’s world-class moment and Eder Militao’s header marked game-changing moments, making it hard for Liverpool to regain momentum.

Despite the hefty loss, Klopp argued that the first half of play illustrated some positive steps made by Liverpool throughout season, but couldn’t save them from defeat.
