Paul Pogba has been axed from Juventus’s squad for their upcoming UEFA Europa League tie against Freiburg due to disciplinary issues.

The World Cup winner had just made his long-awaited return to the Turin giants, coming back as a free transfer from Manchester United last summer after a knee injury requiring surgery.

Despite his brief appearance during the 1-0 defeat to Roma on Sunday, Pogba missed out on the opportunity to compete in the first leg of the Euro League Last 16 tie against Freiburg on Thursday evening.

This decision came about when Massimiliano Allegri disciplined Paul for arriving late to a team dinner Wednesday evening.

During press time earlier Wednesday, Allegri said that Pogba was available but was quarantined from the rest of training that day.

Looking forward to taking on Freiburg, Allegri noted that they are an incredibly physical side who have yet to lose any European games and commented that Juventus were aiming to restore their winning ways at home with this match.
