Jürgen Klopp addressed the media on Friday morning ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League game with Brighton, with a triple injury update among the items on the agenda.
These are the five key sections Liverpool.com picked out from the open section of the press conference as Klopp was asked about Naby Keïta, Thiago, Fabinho and more.
As Klopp was keen to stress, there is still plenty of time left this season for teams to improve or drop points, and it is early days.
But Liverpool have made an excellent start and they know that only by making a good start can you have a good chance of having a good finish.
On Keïta, Fabinho and Thiago, Klopp said:
“Naby looks good. We were surprised. Fabinho is not that good — not that complicated but enough to keep him out, I think. He was not in team training yet.
“Thiago was in team training for the first time. We will see what we do with him but he is much closer than last week.”
Having Keïta back is a huge boost, but Fabinho is a concern. Thiago will be touch and go for the weekend and probably will not be risked, with Atlético Madrid more likely for him.
“All three are not a million miles away, though, and that can only be a good thing.”
