Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool FC, has announced that defender Joe Gomez is set to miss their upcoming match against Manchester United at Anfield due to an injury.
It is believed that Gomez, 25, incurred the muscle issue during last month’s 5-2 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
This season, he made 29 appearances in all competitions.
Although Liverpool’s centre-back depth has provided them with consecutive clean sheets in the last two matches since their defeat against Madrid, Gomez still remains too injured to play.
Klopp also said Thiago and Luis Diaz would be absent from the game due to hip and knee problems respectively.
As much as this fixture means a lot to both clubs, Klopp is determined for his squad to recover their pride after August’s 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
