Super Eagles interim boss, Augustine Eguavoen, has given his assessment to the Nigerian Professional Football League as he continues to monitor league matches live at league centres across the country.

Eguavoen made this assertion over the weekend in Ilorin during Kwara United’s home tie against Lobi Stars which ended 1-0 in favour of the Afonja warriors.

The coach which has been moving around the league since the the Super Eagles crashed out of the just concluded AFCON tournament gave his honest assessment of the league when speaking to journalists after the match.

Eguavoen noted that the standards of play and the officiating is not bad and that the players have a good chance of making it to the national team.

“The standard of play is not bad and the officiating has improved.”

“Nigerian playing in any of the leagues in the country can get a chance to play for the national team”, said Eguavoen.

The Ex-Super Eagles defender said his presence in match venues is also to encourage the players to give their best and also to raise their hope of playing for the nation as he and his team have been going to match centres to see the boys play.

“Once players get information that I will be around, not just me, a couple of my colleagues are also watching other matches, it gives them a lot of hope and thinking they will get a chance one-day” Eguavoen concludes.
