With Chelsea reportedly hoping to make at least one midfield addition in the January transfer window, two names have been mentioned as potential targets – Benfica star Enzo Fernandez and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
Todd Boehly is set to breach the £500 million mark for securing transfers for Chelsea, despite the Portuguese side’s stance that Fernandez will not leave unless his release fee of over £103 million is paid in full.
Meanwhile, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo may also be reunited with former boss Potter; however, a reported £42 million bid from Liverpool drew comments from Potter signaling a more expensive fee.
Potter suggested they would have to offer more than £100 million to get his boots and noted that despite the promising talent of Caicedo, he was still far too young and inexperienced to play on a higher level.
