Joao Pedro scored a dramatic late header to secure Brighton’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United, marking Fabian Hurzeler’s first Premier League home game as Brighton manager with a thrilling win.
Pedro’s goal, five minutes into added time, came from Simon Adingra’s cross, sealing the victory at a jubilant Amex Stadium.
The match had been closely contested, with Manchester United nearly staging a comeback after Amad Diallo’s equalizer canceled out a first-half goal from former United player Danny Welbeck.
United seemed poised to take the lead when Joshua Zirkzee, who scored on his debut last weekend, tapped in Alejandro Garnacho’s goal-bound shot from an offside position, leading to the goal being disallowed by VAR.
