Italian footballer Mario Balotelli has hailed the ‘unique’ football talent of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in a comparison with the World’s best striker.
In an interview with Italian news agency La Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli named who the best striker in the World is and why.
““Erling [Haaland] is extraordinary. The numbers tell you that he is the best striker in the world, but for me, it is a question of personal preference,” Balotelli said.
Erling Haaland has enjoyed an extraordinary season with Mario Balotelli’s former team Manchester City. His goals helping City to the Premier League title, a prize the Italian famously played a huge part in the Citizens first.
In the recently concluded Premier League season, Haaland scored 36 goals. His 12 goals in the UEFA Champions League has helped City to the final, significant numbers which according to Mario Balotelli makes the Norwegian the best at the moment.
On his taste, Balotelli hailed Italian Serie A top-scorer Victor Osimhen as a special lad who ‘can do everything on the pitch’ just like he did in his best years.
“Osimhen, for example, is special. He can do everything on the pitch, a bit like me in the green years. And then he’s a unique boy, ” Balotelli said of Napoli’s 24-year old striker.
Osimhen has scored 25 goals to help Napoli win the Italian Serie title and is on-course to emerge league top-scorer.
