Arsenal in ‘advanced talks’ to offload senior player, Arteta yet to be convinced

Arsenal are reportedly in talks to let senior player Cedric Soares move to Fulham, but manager Mikel Arteta is yet to be convinced.

According to The Athletic, both loan and permanent deals are on the table for this transfer. Fulham have reached their quota of two Premier League loans, so one of those loans will need to be cancelled or made permanent before Cedric can join on loan.

As a right-back or left-back option, Arteta sees Cedric as important should they decide to pursue the title; however, he’s seen minimal playing time in both the Premier League and Europa League appearances this season.

Should Cedric leave Arsenal, it could possibly be driven by the emotional pull of signing for compatriot Marco Silva at Fulham.

If he does make the switch, he’ll likely have an essential role at his new club and will get regular game time.

Until Arteta makes up his mind though, Cedric is stuck in limbo waiting for a decision.
